Matsuyama Kenichi
Injured During Filming

Actor Kenichi Matsuyama is currently taking a break from the filming of "The Legend of Kamui" (Directed by Yoichi Sai) after suffering an injury at the end of last month.

On November 28, a sword fight scene was being shot in Kyoto. Matsuyama was struck strongly on his right thigh, leaving a bruise that is said to take three weeks to fully recover. He still attended the opening day press event for "Tsubaki Sanjuro" on December 1, but he concealed the pain from his injury.

Because of his many action scenes in "The Legend of Kamui," Matsuyama is taking a break to recover. His scenes have been postponed until the start of the year, but filming will continue without him. Producers are still aiming to wrap up filming in February, as Matsuyama has to begin working on the "Detroit Metal City" movie, which is scheduled for a summer release.

"The Legend of Kamui" is based on Sanpei Shirato's manga of the same name ("Kamui Gaiden"). The movie will be released in 2009.

A World To Believe In

The music video for Yuna Ito's tenth single has finally been released and she is featured in a duet with the internationally famed vocalist, Celine Dion. Previously, Yuna covered the ballad "My Heart Will Go On" in a "Celine Dion Tribute" album, which captured the attention of the music legend. And now, the two have made beautiful music together by collaborating for this compassionate song. Yuna sings the lyrics in Japanese, while Celine performs in English. Omigod! Yes! Totally effing, YES!! The manga "NANA" finally continues in the January 2008 issue of "COOKIE" magazine. It released just today in Japan, featuring our leading ladies Nana and Hachi on it's cover. There are 40 pages total and comes with a "NANA" post card as the furoku. So if you haven't ordered yourself a copy yet, please do so! You should also pre-order a February 2008 issue of "COOKIE" because it will come with a 2008 COOKIE Calendar, which will feature the various manga serialized in the magazine. =) Spend away!

Matsuyama Kenichi stars in
"L Change the WorLd."

"L change the WorLd," the movie spinoff of the "Death Note" franchise, is being released in novel form on December 25. The news was announced through the movie's website on Friday.

The movie, which opens on February 9, covers the final 23 days of L (played by Matsuyama Kenichi), which is not part of the original manga or films. To create the story, producers turned to a well-known author, who at the time had not yet read the original work.

The writer is not attaching his or her name to the novel; instead, it will be published under the name of "M." The name is said to be symbolic, referring to "where those who have used the Death Note go," which is "nothingness" ("mu").

The novel version reportedly includes many scenes that do not appear in the film.

Darvish & SAEKO Ties the Knot

Pitcher Yu Darvish and actress SAEKO officially registered their marriage on November 11th 2007, it was learned on Sunday. The news was announced on both of their official websites and blogs.

The date appears to have been chosen partly because Darvish wears the number 11.

Matsuda Ryuhei
Dating Ohta Lina

According to the latest issue of FLASH, 24-year-old actor Matsuda Ryuhei is currently dating 19-year-old model Ohta Lina. Late last month, the pair was seen on a date at night, walking down Omotesando hand in hand before taking a taxi to Matsuda's apartment. Ohta has also been spotted visiting the apartment frequently.

The half-Japanese, half-Russian Ohta debuted as a model in 2001. She starred in the movie "Humoresque" last year.

Matsuda reportedly confirmed the relationship. He said they started dating a few weeks ago and were introduced to each other through a friend.
